Sound familiar?

The homework hour shouldn't feel like a hostage negotiation.

If homework, transitions, and follow-through feel harder than they should every single day, your child may be struggling with executive functioning skills — not motivation or discipline.

The 30-minute assignment that takes 3 hours

Distractions, restarts, melt-downs. By the time it's done, no one has any bandwidth left for the rest of the night.

📚

A backpack you're scared to open

Crumpled papers, missing assignments, a planner that hasn't been touched since September. Organization is the first thing to fall apart.

🌀

"I'll do it later" — forever

You know they're capable. They know they're capable. But starting the work? That's the wall they keep hitting.

The Ladder Method

A real system — not another worksheet.

We've spent over a decade walking students up the same ladder, rung by rung. This mini-course gives parents the blueprint: the exact 7 strategies our tutors deploy, distilled into something you can run at home this week.

  • Understand why your child gets stuck — and stop interpreting executive functioning struggles as defiance.
  • Build a workspace, a routine, and a goal-setting practice that fit your family, not a Pinterest fantasy.
  • Learn the science of focus, state-dependent learning, and managing distractions — in plain English.
  • Walk away with a routine you can maintain when life gets busy (because it will).

Our 2-Phase Process

1Set the foundation — goals, environment, organization
2Build the routine — focus, distractions, follow-through

Each rung builds on the one before it. That's how the skills actually stick.

What You'll Walk Away With

Eight concrete shifts. Starting week one.

These aren't theory. They're the same outcomes parents tell us they see within the first month of running the system at home.

01

A workspace that works

Set up an environment that actually supports focus — based on your child's brain, not a blog post.

02

A goal-setting practice

Turn vague intentions ("do better in math") into trackable, weekly targets you both believe in.

03

The Ultimate Routine

A homework routine that holds up on Mondays, late-game nights, and the week of the science fair.

04

Real organizational systems

Backpack, binder, planner, digital — built once and maintainable, not a once-a-quarter overhaul.

05

Focus & distraction strategies

Phone, sibling, brain — practical tactics for each of the three biggest disruptors.

06

The science, in plain English

Understand state-dependent learning and EF development — so you can explain it to your child, your spouse, and the school.

07

A shared vocabulary

Stop the cycle of nagging. Replace it with language your child can hear and use themselves.

08

Confidence, on both sides

Your child sees themselves as capable. You stop second-guessing every parenting move.

Is this for you?

Built for the families we know best.

  • Your child is in upper elementary through high school
  • Homework hour ends in tears, fights, or 11 PM panic

  • You suspect EF (executive functioning) is part of the picture
  • You want a system, not another generic parenting tip
  • You're open to changing what you do, too

✗ This isn't for you if…

  • You're looking for a magic 7-day fix
  • You want someone else to manage your child's homework

About The Ladder Method

We've spent 15+ years walking students up the ladder.

The Ladder Method was built inside the homes and at the kitchen tables of real families — not in a classroom. Every strategy in this course has been tested with hundreds of students across LA, NYC, and nationwide.

  • Rooted in EF research, applied through real-world practice.
  • Designed for parents, drawn from our 1:1 tutoring system.
  • Works across learning differences — ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety, and neurotypical kids alike.
  • One method, one ladder. Skills build on each other instead of starting over.

Common Questions

Before you enroll

Who is this course for?
Parents of students in upper elementary through high school who are struggling with homework completion, organization, time management, or building consistent routines. If you've already tried planners, charts, and rewards and nothing is sticking — this is for you.
How long do I have access?
Lifetime. Once you enroll, the entire library is yours to revisit whenever your routine needs a refresh — at the start of a new school year, after a big transition, or any time things start to slip.
Do I have to watch with my child?
No. This course is designed for parents. You'll learn the strategies and then implement them at home — though we encourage families to invite older students into the goal-setting and routine-building lessons.
Is this for kids with ADHD or learning differences?
Many of the families we work with have students with ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety, or other learning differences. The strategies are universal — they help any brain build better executive functioning. They are not a replacement for clinical care.
Are payment plans available?
Yes. You can split the bundle into installments at checkout — choose the option that works for your family.
What if I'm not sure it's the right fit?
Lesson 2 — the 45-minute Executive Functioning Webinar — is available as a free preview. Watch it first, and if it resonates, the rest of the course builds directly from there.
